Public Service Announcement with Frank Sinatra!

Here is a public service announcement (PSA) that I was in with Frank Sinatra to raise awareness for tuberculosis and Christmas Seals.  This was filmed in 1955 before Leave it to Beaver.  The PSA was shown in movie theaters before the feature film started.  Frank was a very nice man and I feel honored to be able to say I worked with him!

  • Happy New Year 2013 Jerry.I hope you and your family will have another year filled with special memories together. I just lost my father on December 19, 2012. He was such a blessing to our family. We will treasure and cherish his time he spent with us.He was the patriarch .

Laurie: My condolences on the loss of your dad. I lost mine many years ago. As time goes on, the hurt does subside but the wonderful memories live on forever.

Do you actually remember making that PSA? You were pretty young. It’s impressive because I’ve always wondered how children remember their lines. Good job “Gordy!” …smile…

Nice posting Jerry. Very interesting, reminding how it was back in the 1950’s. I was an announcer the Oprah show on which you appeared for a 1960’s retrospective. Was hoping to say hi, but I was shuffled out after the show. Anyway, good to see you here. Happy New Year and thanks for a great show!!!

I really enjoyed being on Oprah’s show. Everyone was so nice and it was a fun theme show. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to meet that day. Happy New Year to you as well.

Wow that brought back alot of memories . . My grandmother, aunt and mother use to send a ton od Christmas cards every year and it was my job to lick and stick the Christmas Seal stickers . . Thank you for sharing that 🙂

  • Thanks Jerry, for not only reminding us of a time when people reached out to help others, and your work teaching us all living lessons. I so grateful that you have survived the “child star” years, and hope and pray you are doing well, and live in peace and harmony, with hope and love. God Bless you, “Beave” and thanks again for the smiles and memories. We sure used a lot of Christmas seals growing up, but I never saw this until you shared it. Thanks.

I so much enjoyed “Leave It To Beaver” from the first to the last episode. Tony, Ken, Barbara, and Hugh were the perfect people to play Wally Cleaver, Eddie Haskell, June Cleaver, and Ward Cleaver. I have every episode including the pilot episode. The 50’s and 60’s were the best years for television. Our family didn’t own our first color television until 1973.
